Mars Aspects on Planets in Horoscope

Mars means action, energy, aggression and sometimes this can manifest as arguments, but without the action energies of this planet - nothing ever gets done.

Mars Aspecting the Sun: Whatever squares or opposes the Sun frequently shows traits that we reject, that we don’t even want to believe we have. But we do have them. Mars is anger and energy. One woman with a stressful aspect between the Sun and Mars had a violent father who beat her mother in front of the kids. She always wondered why her boyfriends were abusive. I asked her if she also had no energy. She replied "How did you know?". You cannot cut off the "bad" traits of a planet and keep the good. It’s a package deal. Jung was right in this case. She told herself that she wasn’t going to be like that violent Mars, so she attracted it from the outside. And since she rejected her Mars function, she also cut off her own energy. In other cases, the Mars seems to take over, and the person has an explosive temper. Stress aspects between the Sun and Mars can also tend to be defiant of authority if the Mars influence predominates. Once you learn to deal with this combination, however, the energy can seem never ending. The conjunction is easiest stress aspect to deal with. There is no "projection" with the conjunction. You are simply active and aggressive, and may be mistaken for an Aries Sun-Sign. The harmonious aspects give less temper and more action, making it easier to accomplish things.

Saturn Aspects on Planets in Horoscope

Saturn is the planet of order, organization, ambition, caution, discipline, and hard work. It limits and restricts (or tries to) any other planet which it aspects.

Saturn Aspecting the Sun: The harmonious aspects simply incline the person with them to be practical, conservative, and orderly. When Saturn makes harmonious aspects, it seems to give benefits grudgingly, and these only have to do with stabilizing things shown by the planet it is aspecting. The STRESSFUL aspects are where Saturn really goes to work. With Saturn stressfully aspecting the Sun, there are usually the following difficulties with the father: (1) he isn’t there, either due to a long work schedule, separation, divorce, or death (2) he is there but he is so aloof, distant, and unfeeling, he might as well not be (3) he is there, but he is always sick, or (4) he is there but he is always strict and a disciplinarian.

Saturn Aspecting the Moon: Can give a mother who is efficient, but a little distant emotionally. This is especially true of the stress aspects. As is always the case with Saturn, the good effect of these aspects is to make you work hard and prepare for the worst, which, you are sure, is just around the corner. Lighten up already! Keep repeating to yourself over and over again: "It’s IMPRACTICAL to be miserable".

Saturn Aspecting Mercury: Can give a serious mind, usually much too serious. You may sometimes appear mentally "slow" but that is not due to lack of intelligence. It is because you are cautious and fearful of making a mistake. All Mercury-Saturn contacts deepen the mind. There is little patience for small talk, so if you have this combination, you may appear anti-social. You aren’t, really. You just don’t want to waste time. The stressful aspects tend towards brooding and depression. The cure is (like for most Saturn stress aspects) is to keep busy doing something useful.

Image result for saturn on planetsSaturn Aspecting Venus: When stressful, is another of the so-called "hypoglycemic aspects", the others being Venus stressfully aspected to either Uranus or Pluto. This one also causes a tendency for the blood sugar level to fall. Get it checked by a doctor. People with stress aspects between Venus and Saturn fall into two distinct types. One seems to have an allergy to success, always blowing their big break just before it’s in their hands. The other type becomes successful beyond their wildest dreams, but has difficulty enjoying it because they are too busy. Bill Gates has Venus and Saturn in conjunction in Scorpio, sign of extremes, which makes him even more driven. Oprah Winfrey has the square between these two. In her case, Venus is sitting close to the Sun, which gives her charm. But make no mistake about it. Saturn, planet of efficiency and organization squares both of them and it is the one calling the tune here. Venus-Saturn people also tend to be extremely loyal, sometimes beyond all reason ("Well, I know you just burned down my house and killed my family, but you did something nice for me 5 years ago, so I’ll forgive you"). Ok, maybe not THAT loyal, but you get the idea. These folks frequently suffer from what I call "Free-floating guilt". If they see someone else doing something wrong, somehow they feel responsible. If you have this aspect, try to rid yourself of the belief that you have to suffer before you can enjoy anything.

Saturn Aspecting Mars: The Harmonious Aspects between these two give you the ability to pace yourself so that you can keep going long after everyone else drops from exhaustion. This is similar to having Mars in Capricorn, the sign that Saturn rules. The Stressful Aspects can do this too, but they have some problems. For one thing, Mars will tend to keep stepping on the gas while Saturn hits the brakes. You have to move foreword in sort of a jerky fashion, constantly stopping to check and make sure that everything is ok. If you don’t, things can fall apart behind you. You can’t afford to burn your bridges behind you if you have stressful aspects between Mars and Saturn. With this combination, you never know when you have to make a sudden retreat. It does give discipline. Another astrologer (Mary Downing I think) mentioned in a lecture that all of the men in her family had this one. Her son, for instance, was on the swimming team and he would practice swimming for hours on end, perfecting his stroke. Women with stress aspects between Mars and Saturn tend to attract cruel men.

Saturn Aspecting Jupiter: I call the stressful aspects between these two the "Jekyll-Hyde aspect". It is seldom a problem for the person who has one. It can be a big problem for everyone around them. When I was in graduate school, I had a mentor who had the opposition between Jupiter and Saturn. I came into the lab one day and another grad student said to me: "I can’t figure him out". "Who are you talking about?" "Our mentor. he came into the lab yesterday and screamed at me for sitting down." "What!" "Yeah, for sitting down. I told him I was writing up an experiment, but he said that I had to write it up on my own time. In the lab, I had to WORK,WORK,WORK. He just came in again today. Naturally, I was sitting down writing up the same experiment. I saw him coming, I jumped up and started to work. He says to me: ‘Why are you working so hard. Come on. Let’s have a game of chess. Jupiter expands. Saturn contracts. Jupiter is "Let’s have a good time". Saturn is Got to keep working". When they are in stressful aspect (particularly the opposition) you swing from one extreme to the other.

Saturn Aspecting the Ascendant: The Ascendant shows how you start things. Saturn will tend to make you cautious and careful here. Even an "charge-right-in" sign like Aries on the Ascendant will be slowed by this one. The stressful aspects also incline to extra delays in the marriage and partnership area. If you have a stressful aspect of Saturn to the Ascendant, don’t get married before your first "Saturn return". This is the time when Saturn returns to the place it occupied when you were born, and it occurs between the ages of 28 and 30. This aspect is similar to the effect of having Saturn in the 7th House. A marriage before age 28 has an increased chance of failure. The affection slowly decays until there is nothing left. Tell your fiancĂ©e they will have to wait.

Saturn Aspecting the Mid-Heaven: Is excellent for business, even the stressful aspects. After all, this is the planet of organization and practicality. Saturn also inclines to any profession requiring lots of hard work, attention to detail, and discipline, both before you enter it and afterwards, such as doctor or research scientist. Bill Gates has the trine and Walter Annenberg the conjunction. Marie Curie had the trine as well. The harmonious aspects give parents who are solid, if unexciting. The stressful can give parents who are TOO solid. Reserved, strict, etc. These also increase the possibility that there will be little contact or affection from at least one parent, just like Saturn in the 4th house (divorce, separation, death, or the parent was either too busy or cold and withdrawn).

Uranus Aspects on Planets in Horoscope

Uranus can make other planets function crazily. It can make them seem hyper. Whatever Uranus touches will not function in socially acceptable "normal" ways.

Uranus Aspecting the Sun: Gives independence and the desire to do things "differently". When positive, brilliance to the point of genius. When negative, it can make you an eccentric who delights in shocking people, or just plain crazy.

Image result for uranus on planetsUranus Aspecting the Moon: Faith McInnerney, as far as I know, was the first one to notice that people with stressful aspects between the Moon and Uranus have a fear of abandonment and tend to be hysterics. The Moon shows, in any horoscope, relationships with women in general, particularly the mother. The stressful aspects (0, 90, and 180 degrees, the conjunction, square, and opposition) frequently mean that the mother’s schedule was erratic during the first few years of the person’s life, usually because the mother herself was erratic. As a result, the child, to survive, cuts off, says "I don’t need her". Everything is fine until they grow up and start dating. When they really like someone, up comes the feeling: "I need you", and that’s when they run. If they can’t run, they do or say something to make the other person run. There is also a tendency to be attracted to someone who is unavailable (married or out of town). In fact, the more unavailable the love interest, the greater the attraction. These traits are usually more noticeable in a women. A man will simply be a "love them and leave them" type, or attract hysterical women as lovers. Personally, I have never seen this interpretation miss. The hit rate is 100%. The harmonious aspects simply give an attraction to the new and unusual, although, even here, there may be flashes of the hysterical syndrome.

Neptune Aspects on Planets in Horoscope

Neptune is the planet of dreams, imagination, illusion and delusion. Its effect on other planets is as follows:

Neptune Aspecting the Sun: Both the harmonious and stressful aspects tend to increase the imagination. The stressful aspects tend to bring out the more negative side of Neptune. If you have that, then you have to be careful of substance abuse. You also have to be very careful of having your sympathies played upon because you are a sucker for a hard luck story. The men in your life are inclined to be irresponsible. Watch out for the "Savior-Savee" syndrome. You know. Either you are always trying to "save" people, or you get yourself into situations where they have to "save" you --- again and again and again. Any aspect between these two means that it will be good for you to do some sort of charitable activity to keep the Neptune happy.

Pluto Aspects on Planets in Horoscope

Pluto is the planet of extremes, all or nothing at all, the highest or the lowest and nothing in between. It's effects on other planets is as follows:

Pluto Aspecting the Sun: Gives power, intensity. The stressful aspects (conjunction, square, and opposition) mean that others will have an instant reaction to you. They will like you or hate you on sight and will not be able to say why. It’s just a gut reaction that this combination brings about. All Pluto aspects to the Sun will give you good ability as a healer (doctor or psychotherapist). They also can make you a good detective. No planet better than Pluto when it comes to finding out secrets.

Pluto Aspecting the Moon: Tends towards sudden, extreme mood swings. I ought to know. Two of my ex-girl friends had the opposition. Women with the stressful aspects have to be careful of other women who will get jealous and turn on them, even after years of "friendship". No, this does not mean that EVERY woman in your life will do this, but you will get more than your share of such incidents, much more. The mother will tend to be a strong-willed, no nonsense type. Again, in the horoscopes of women, the mother will tend to be jealous of you and act accordingly.

Pluto Aspecting Mercury: Pluto is power and Mercury communications. People with this aspect seem to communicate more forcefully than others. This quality increases the chances of success in sales. It is also a good aspect to have for a therapist as your words can heal. Be careful though. They also have a stronger than normal ability to wound. If you are a popular song writer, this aspect increases the chance that your words will be heard and sung by millions, even after your death. John Lennon has the square between Mercury and Pluto, and both were stressfully aspected with the Moon at his birth. The Moon adds feeling, emotion. Linda Ronstadt has Mercury and Pluto in conjunction and both opposite the Moon to give the same effect.

A Brief History on Origin of Astrology

Astrology literally means the study (or science, depending on how one translates the Greek word logos) of the stars (astron).

Image result for history of astrologyThe first sun sign column appeared in England in 1930 after the birth of Princess Margaret. R.H. Naylor wrote an astrological profile of the newborn princess in the London Daily Express.

Ancient Astrology in Mesopotamia:
Mesopotamian civilisation started to come into being around 4000 BC in the region now occupied by Iraq. Commonly referred to as "the cradle of civilisation", the cultures that flourished here gave birth to the Judeao-Christian tradition that has lasted into the present day. The first inhabitants of the region were the Sumerians who developed the earliest known form of writing, cuneiform. Cuneiform tablets became the principal method of record keeping throughout the Mesopotamian period and our primary source of information about ancient astrology. The Sumerians were interested in divination and astronomy, and their mathematics is said to have been as sophisticated as the mathematics of 17th century Europe. It is thought that the merging of these three sciences took place around about 2000 BC and laid the foundation of a structured astrological system. The earliest known astrology texts we have are the Enuma Anu Enlil, a series of some 7000 omens on 70 tablets, and the Venus Tablet of Amisaduqa. The Enuma Anu Enlil dates from the 8th century BC and contains older material such as the Venus Tablet, which is thought to have been written during the reign of the Babylonian king, Amisaduqa, c 1600 BC.

The first known personal horoscope is dated by A. Sachs to April 29, 410 BC. This horoscope was fairly rudimentary, comprising the planets into the constellations. The first use of planetary ephemerides is dated from 308 BC, and in 4 BC the Ascendant (rising sign) and the houses were first used.

Astrology in Egypt:
It was not until Alexander the Great invaded Egypt in 332 BC that astrology became part of Egyptian culture. Alexander is attributed with the spread of astrology to Egypt and India. He is known to have consulted astrologers and to have them counted among his entourage during his campaigns. Alexander is responsible for the cross fertilisation of Greek, Persian, Mesopotamian and Indian astrologists.

Astrology in Classical Greece:
The earliest mention of astronomy in Greece is by Hesiod in his poem Works and Days 750 BC.

Pythagoras introduced the idea that the human being was a microcosm, a minature universe reflecting the macrocosm, the universe as a whole. Plato supported this idea and mentions astrology in his Timaeus.

Hippocrates stated "A physician who has no knowledge of astrology has no right to call himself a physician". Hipparchus discovered the precession of the equinoxes in the 2nd century BC, and laid the foundation for the development of the tropical zodiac.

The most famous astrologer of antiquity is Claudius Ptolemy c 100 AD. A Greek, Ptolemy lived in Alexandria during the Roman occupation of the city. He is remembered in history for his two great works on astronomy and astrology, the Algamest and the Tetrabiblos respectively.
The Tetrabiblos became the standard astrological text of the Arabs and the European astrologers until the 17th century, and his earth-centered Ptolemaic universe the astronomical model until Copernicus established that the Sun is at the centre of the solar system.

Astrology During the Roman Empire:
Legend has it that astrology was brought to the Romans in the 2nd century BC by the slave Antiochus. The early Roman astrologers were commonly referred to as Chaldeans, as it was the Chaldeans coming into the Empire that promoted and practised the art.

Caesar Augustus had his Moon sign, Capricorn, minted onto coins.
Tiberius was an accomplished astrologer, as were Hadrian and Domitian later. The major astrological figure of the Roman era was Julius Firmicus Maternus, an astrologer, lawyer and Christian. Firmicus lived in the 4th century AD and is notable for spanning the divide between Christian and pagan thought. His masterwork, the Mathesis, is a practical textbook of astrology. The decline of the Roman Empire after the sacking of Rome by the Goths in 410 AD began the decline of European Scholarship.

Astrology in the Arab World:
Learning and astrology were virtually in a state of suspension during the Dark Ages in Europe. The centre of learning shifted to the Islamic states of the Middle East, and was fostered during the Arabic expansionism of the 7th and 8th centuries. The Arabian Empire ranged from the Middle East to China, India, France, Spain and North Africa. The Arabs were able to appreciate the culture and knowledge of the civilisations they had conquered and they were seized by a desire to understand and develop the mathematics, astronomy and astrology of the Greeks.

Medieval and Renaissance Astrology:
The resurgence of astrology in Europe can be traced to an English monk by the name of Alcuin (born 735 AD). Alcuin received the patronage of Charlemagne who brought him to France and had him set up the first great Medieval school at the Abbey of Saint Martin near Tours. Among the subjects he taught was astrology and, under his tutelage, Charlemagne himself became a competent astrologer.

Roger Bacon (1214? - 1294), one of the greatest thinkers of all time, was a skilled astrologer whose encyclopaedic knowledge embraced philosophy, science, mathematics, physics and geometry was convinced the planets influenced human behaviour.

One of the most important figures of 13th century astrology was Guido Bonatti, professor of astrology at the University of Bologna. Bonatti's Liber Astronomiae is one of the most important astrological texts of all time. He made his living as an astrological military adviser to Count Guido de Montefeltro.

In the 15th century Giovanni Pico della Mirandola (1463-1494) launched an attack against astrology deeming it unscientific.

Queen Catherine de Medici was patron to the most famous astrologer of all time, Michel Nostradamus (1503-1566). Elizabeth I in England employed John Dee (1527-1608). A colourful personality, for his life in and outside of astrology, Dee has the distinction of successfully electing the most fortuitous time for Elizabeth's coronation.

William Lilly (1602 - 1681), the last of the great European astrologers, predicted the Great Fire of London fourteen years before the event and drew up war charts for the Royalists and the Parliamentarians. In his heyday, Lilly was seeing 2000 clients a year. Famous scientists of this period who were also astrologers were Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler and Galileo.

John Flamsteed (1649 - 1719), the first Astronomer Royal, used astrology to elect the best time to found the sacred heart of modern astronomy, the Royal Observatory at Greenwich.

20th century astrology owes its revival to William Frederick Allen, commonly known as Alan Leo (1860 - 1917). A Theosophist, Leo ran a successful postal horoscope service, he wrote numerous books and founded the Astrological Lodge of the Theosophical Society in London in 1917.

By World War II astrology was well established in Germany through the efforts of Alfred Witte and Reinhold Ebertin and their followers.

Venus role in 12 Houses of Astrology

Venus indicates your values. Her placement describes your inclination toward romance, marriage and other partnerships, capacity for humor, and the pursuit of pleasure.

Venus, the goddess of love, represents female relationships and social interactions at every level. She rules your social attitudes and behavior, along with your aesthetic tastes and inclinations.

Related imageFrom a romantic point of view, Venus in a man's chart shows the kinds of women most likely to desire, whilst her placement in a woman's chart indicates the ways in which the subject is likely to present herself to attract the interest of romantic partners.

Venus in the First House: Amiability and a cheerful temperament help popularity and there is usually great love of companionship and social life. There may be a craving for pleasure and with this is likely to be lined much devotion to the arts, especially music and drama. The power of attracting others may be an important factor in achieving success.

Venus in the Second House : To natural ability in handling finance is usually added the necessary magnetism of personality which ensures the good-will and assistance of others. Friends and associates tend to offer lavish attention and may render possible the attainment of lucrative positions. There may be some tendency towards extravagance, probably arising from the inordinate interest in clothes, jewellery and amusements. Excessive generosity may result in the squandering of money on the objects of the affections, but fortunately in most instances inherent prudence curbs this tendency.

Venus in the Third House: Interest in literature, music and painting is likely to be marked and gain may arise from these sources. Travel is another potential source of profit and pleasure. A sunny disposition attracts the interest and affection of others and most contacts will tend to be characterised by harmonious relationships.
This is likely to be particularly marked in the case of brothers and sisters.

Venus in the Fourth House : Domestic environment tends to play a large part in enriching the personality and there will be intense love of beautiful furniture and home surroundings. Home life usually creates much happiness, especially in later years. Gain is possible through the parents.

Venus in the Fifth House : Social intercourse, pleasure and amusements tend to be the chief centre of interest. Contact with others on terms affection will contribute much to happiness and popularity is likely to be an extremely important feature. Interest in the arts and practical ability in those branches which encourage social intercourse is likely and much gain will probably result. Another source of benefit would be teaching or publishing. Some ability for the successful manipulation of stocks and shares is also possible. Happiness in married life and deep attachment to children are likely to be other important features.

Venus in the Sixth House: Harmony tends to prevail in occupational matters and smooth co-operation with others is likely to facilitate the achievement of success. The good-will of both servants and superiors and popularity with fellow workers are highly significant and most relationships will consequently tend to be beneficial.
Health is likely to be good but abuse of the physical resources would be likely to result in chronic invalidism.

Venus in the Seventh House: Marriage tends to play an important part, being productive of both personal happiness and material benefit, and may take place at an early age. Popularity helps in the achievement of success in public life, but successful partnership is likely to be an important element. Artistic ability is likely to be above the average and there is the necessary charm of personality to gain the goodwill of the public.

Venus in the Eighth House: Marriage, partnership and inheritance are likely to be the vital issues, being productive either of great benefits or of heavy losses. Personal happiness is probable in marriage in spite of the possibility of some disappointment in love. Estrangement is likely to be the greatest obstacle.

Venus in the Ninth House : Idealism and sensitiveness to the poetry of life help to enhance the charm of personality. Good taste in artistic matters and an intense love of beauty tend to have as their complements sympathetic understanding for others and great generosity. Religion, particularly the devotional aspect, is likely to exercise a strong appeal but it is probable that the practical angle along the lines of charitable work will also receive attention.
