Periodicity of Planets - Udu Dasa System

According to Indian Astrological system, we confirm the Birth Star of Individual according to Moon's position at time of the birth. Influence of Planets on humans affects at the periodicity during his/her life time. This is also called "Udu Dasa System". Udu = Nakshatra / Asterism.

Planets  -  Ruling Period

 Sun - 6 Yrs.; Moon - 10 Yrs.; Mars - 7 Yrs.; Rahu - 18 Yrs.; Jupiter - 16 Yrs.; Saturn - 19 Yrs.;

 Mercury - 17 Yrs.; Ketu - 7 Yrs.; Venus - 20 Yrs.

The periodicity follows the chronological order sums up total of 120 Yrs which is taken as full longevity of person.

Finding Period (Mahadasha) through Birth-star:

Krittika should be consider as first star. Note the number of Nakshatra you were born by counting from Krittika; 

a) If the value is more than 9, divide by 9 and take remainder as 'Period' of Janma Nakshatra.

b) If the value is less than 9, take the same as remainder which is Birth-Star.

Finding Sub-period of Planets:

To find Sub-period (Antar-dasha) in Major Period (Mahadasha), Multiply the Periodicity of 2 Planets, the Value of Numbers (either 2 or 3 digits) which we get, take last Integer * 3 as Days While remaining Digits as Months.

             For E.g:- To find out Sub-period of Jupiter in Major Period of Saturn:

                                Saturn (19) * Jupiter (16) = 304 - Split as 30 & 4.

4 * 3 = 12 Days and 30 months i.e [2 Years, 6 Months, 12 Days]
